Delta DBA is a database administration tool designed specifically for kdb+ from Kx Systems.
The application has been designed to provide database administrators (and users)
a graphical platform to execute simple kdb+ administration tasks on historical
databases. Standard functionality offers the ability to:
The main functional areas are:
- Remove Tables
- Add Columns
- Remove Columns
- Rename Columns
- Reorder Columns
- Change Columns Types
- Backfill Empty Partitions
The tool also has the facilities to perform an extensive
sanity check on historical databases. For example:
- Locate any partitions where problems due to non conforming data types exist
- Identify inconsistencies in table schemas on disk
- Explore column attributes on associated tables
Also integrated in the current release is a simple query builder tool where the
user can easily execute simple kdb+ queries, export data to csv files and perform
analysis on the length of execute of a specific function.
Overall the tool has been designed to make kdb+ database administration easier
and to specifically remove the requirement of a console session.
The screenshot below shows a database with both missing partitions and missing
columns within the partition.
