Why did you want to join the Calypso Practise in FD?

Having graduated with a degree in Economics & Finance from UCD and been through the Capital Markets Training Programme, I felt I had a lot of strong theoretical background in the finance industry. The chance to turn this into practice into a tangible, practical skill set was what attracted me to the Calypso Practise in FD. This training greatly aided the speed at which I picked up concepts in Calypso, and in turn the Calypso knowledge I have gained has complemented my domain financial knowledge. Calypso is such a huge application, used by front-back office across the world and has given me invaluable learning experiences early in my career.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

The depth of exposure and responsibility given to me by FD has been one of the things that I enjoy most about my role. Interacting with business users, establishing relationships and acquiring vast amounts of new knowledge as a result has really fast-tracked my career.

What does your current working day look like?

Currently I am working as a Front Office BA on the latest version of Calypso, which was taken live last year. My day is always varied. I work with traders every day. This can range from a quick support query to a large business requirement that requires analysis and implementation. I am also responsible for release management and user training.
